More coffee please

Starting the day about an hour and a half earlier requires more coffee than my old routine. Empty cups become subjects.

Three Lemons

I love to paint lemons -- I love the color, the shape and the amazing smell.

Fits and Starts

I started this painting early in the day and after painting-interruptous ...

Well,  I started the day with so much resolve. “I am going to spend the whole day painting,” I told myself. By 9:30 am, my husband David was packing up the car to go to the UVa Football Open Practice in Northern Virginia. I deferred because of the threat of rain, and my big plans for a day in the studio. But then the Wahoo in me came forth, and I just couldn’t resist -- I just had to don the orange and blue and go see my Charlie (our youngest) in his Cavalier uniform. Rained the whole time - fabulous.

Friday Fish

Breakfast painting

So, one of the hardest things about painting every day is figuring out what to paint. Keep in mind these are small painting that I try to get done before going to work each morning. Often I end up just painting my breakfast before eating it.

Birthday Wishes

Painting to celebrate my birthday. Today was day 30 of a painting-a-day practice. Stay tuned, I will post something every day -- like it or not.
